Order From Chaos

from £180.00

Limited Edition of 20

Location: Colorado, USA

Photographing in dense woodland is one of the most challenging assignments for the landscape photographer, but also one of the most satisfying when the one feels that the compositional puzzle has been solved. Untamed woodland is naturally chaotic, it is frequently not possible to place a tripod where one would like it to be, and there is usually an unwanted branch or shrub poking into the frame. In this image, my challenge was to create a balanced composition, centred on the curved aspen trunk, using the other trunks and the concentrations of foliage as the main graphic elements, while finding somewhere that I could stand with an unimpeded view.
